What the AutoCAD Electrical Programme Covers
The 80-hour course runs through 18 sessions and a final project. Sessions 1–6 cover AutoCAD foundations: workspaces and coordinate systems; draw and modify tools (Line, Polyline, Circle, Arc, Rectangle, Multiline, Array, Spline); hatching, annotation, text, tables and multi-leader dimensioning; layer management, isometric drawings and blocks; and external references. From Session 7 the curriculum moves entirely to AutoCAD Electrical. Students set up IEC-compliant projects using the Project Manager, insert schematic components from symbol libraries via the Icon Menu and Catalog Browser, build custom symbols using the Symbol Builder, insert and manage wires with automatic numbering (including Three-Phase and PLC I/O wire numbers), create ladder diagrams with signal arrows using Ladder Tools, use the Circuit Builder for motor circuits and dual power-feed circuits, insert PLC layout modules parametrically, wire devices with Connector diagrams, design panel layouts using footprints and balloons, run Electrical Audit to identify missing catalog data and errors, generate BOM and other reports, and complete the programme with Etransmit and Publish workflows. Learning outcomes include: AutoCAD navigation basics; creating Electrical CAD projects; drawing accurate schematic diagrams; customising symbols and circuits with the Symbol Builder; designing PLC layout modules; connecting devices using Point-to-Point wiring; building safe panel layouts; and generating reports with Ladder Tools.
