Here is what is actually true for students training in BIM right now, without the hype in either direction.

Where AI Genuinely Helps Inside a Revit Workflow

The most real, adopted use of AI in Revit workflows today is not design generation — it is automation of repetitive, rule-based tasks: renaming and organising views and sheets, cleaning up model warnings, drafting first-pass room schedules, and generating boilerplate compliance checklists. Generative design tools can produce plausible-looking massing studies and floor layouts quickly, but they consistently struggle with the constraint-heavy, code-compliant, buildable detail that Indian construction actually requires — accurate rebar detailing, MEP clash-free routing, structural load paths that an engineer would sign off on. What we see in practice is that AI-generated options are useful as a fast first pass for early design exploration, and then a trained BIM modeller has to take over for anything that will actually go to a contractor. Firms are increasingly happy to let AI handle the repetitive first-draft work, which means they need human modellers for the judgment-heavy parts: coordination, clash resolution, code compliance and buildability review.
