Five Elements of a Good Prompt
Context: what you are building. Specific request: exactly what you need. Constraints: colours, framework, screen size. Examples: reference designs. Output format: HTML file, React component, or code snippet.
Bad vs Good Prompts
Bad: Make me a website. Good: Build a single-page website for ABC CAD Trainings with hero section, 6 course cards, animated counters showing 2000 students, testimonials, and contact form. Use navy blue and red. Mobile responsive. The detailed prompt produces professional output on first attempt.
Prompt Patterns
Role Pattern: You are an expert web designer. Step-by-Step Pattern: break complex tasks into numbered steps. Fix-It Pattern: describe what is wrong and what to change. Reference Pattern: design like Coursera but with our brand colours.
The Iteration Cycle
Generate, review, give specific feedback, regenerate, repeat. Usually 3-5 rounds produce excellent results. Never say make it better. Instead: change button to red, increase padding to 80px, make heading larger.
